Starting The Untamed Frame has been a dream full of meaningful moments, but one of the most special so far was creating something for my niece, Lilah, to celebrate her very first birthday.
Lilah is gentle and calm, with the kind of quiet charm that draws you in slowly. She’s observant, sweet, and has the softest little expressions that sneak up on you – a side glance, a shy smile, the tiniest tilt of her head. For her In the Box session, I knew we needed something simple, playful, and totally her.
We went with a “Berry Sweet” theme – pinks, reds, and strawberries everywhere! From her ruffle dress to the soft props and berry-themed cake, the whole setup was bursting with color and softness. The box was the perfect space for her to explore at her own pace, with no pressure and plenty of space to just exist as her sweet self.
She was curious about the textures, gentle with the cake, and gave us the kind of quiet moments that make your heart melt. This session wasn’t about big expressions or wild energy – it was about soaking in the softness of who she is right now, at this beautiful age of one.
This is what I love about Box Sessions.
They adapt to every child’s personality – bold, shy, silly, serious – and give us a little window into who they really are. For Lilah, it was about slowing down, leaning into the details, and letting her be exactly who she is. And honestly? That’s what makes these sessions so magical.
